Is Main Street going to be a Michigan Avenue or stay a State Street ?

I hope Bloomingdale's (or is it bloomingdale's ) comes back to Texas at the Houston Galleria this time. I've always wanted to see what they sell but the trip there has always been thwarted. Its too bad Nordstrom didn't open 10 years ago here instead at the Dallas Galleria.

Trust me, I know that Berdgorf is owned by Neimans, but because Neimans is headquarted in Dallas, it was a rumor that they would bring a Berdgorf to Dallas.

If you had ever lived in Austin, you would understand what I mean about the flights.

Doesn't Bergdorf Goodman sell practically the same stuff as NM but operates under a different name in that one location on Manhattan? I've never been there but looking at their store locator, it seems that NM is located in the suburbs and BG is just the main store on Manhattan.

Berdgorf is a little different, and yes there is only one location in New York, but it was going around that one would be put in Dallas.

I'm a "Big D" person, but wanted to post this picture of a thoroughly beautiful city. Can anyone guess which city this is?

I visit Texas and like both DFW and Houston. I'm always amazed on how big both metros are and how they can be in one state. This is my experience with both of the cities.
1) Dallas has more upscale malls and shopping.
2)Houston has less upscale but has the best mall in Texas: Houston Galleria
3) Houston's CBD murders Dallas's. It's about 10 years ahead.
4)Dallas is ahead on urban housing just outside of its downtown.
5) Dallas's development is newer closer to downtown.
6) Houston is more developed throughout the city.
7) DFW's air a little less smoggy than Houston's, but it still ranks in the top 10 smoggiest U.S. metros
8) Houston has more greenspace
9) Dallas has a better transit system, more Lightrail.
10) Houston has a better HOV/Freeway/BUS System
11) Houston has more skylines
12) DFW has rolling hills/slopes.
13) Houston has more trees and is closer to the beach
14) Houston has more sports stadiums in its downtown.
15. Dallas has more of a LIVE music scene
16) Houston has NASA, Kemah Boardwalk, Galveston and other tourist areas
17) Dallas has fort worth with that old western charm
18) Houston is more ethnically diverse and cosmopolitan
19) Dallas has a slighly more diverse economy but Houston's office vacancy rate is much lower than Dallas's
20) Both Cities have a fashion industry/fashion scene.
21) Dallas has more suburbs, but 2 of Houston's suburbs are listed as the best in the country.
22) Houston is more humid and less hot.Dallas is slightly less humid but brutally hot.
All in all, my vote goes to Houston. It's just bigger and there are more things to be found in the city of Houston. Even though many ragged on Houston, my post is not to ragg on DFW. To the poster that said that Dallas is paradise in the summer. PLEASE. I've been to Dallas in the summer and its brutal heat is just as miserable as Houston's humidity.
DFW has everything spread out through Arlington/Plano, Irving, Fort Worth, Grapevine, and Dallas. I think its less confusing to visitors to have everything in ONE place. Both cities have promising futures and the downtowns of Houston and Dallas are currently seeing a boom. Houston has been getting alot recognition in business, music scene, and real estate. Dallas has been getting alot of recognition in business relocation. Both cities do their own part to lead the state.
Hope this helps

Well I have to add to that by saying that Dallas just has surplus of all those stores, but it's not more upscale than Houston. Honestly though, in competition, Dallas' Vera Wang is better than Houston's, but that's about it.

It depends on what type of live music you're looking to listen to.
