Default Dressing for an Outdoor Rodeo (how to handle the heat?)

Hey everyone. I'm going to an outdoor rodeo in east Texas this weekend while visiting the area with a friend. I am from Canada and we've hardly had any days over 20 C (70 F) here, and the forecast for the weekend there is a high of 38 C (100 F!! ) and I don't know what to wear. I am a country girl and wear jeans pretty much year round. I would never wear shorts or a skirt to a rodeo here because a) it's too cold and b) it's usually too dirty (especially if there's a dance in an arena afterwards). But if I wear jeans to the rodeo in TX, I'm afraid I'll die from the heat, lol. Would it look ridiculous to wear cowboy boots and a skirt or shorts to the rodeo there??? Here we would laugh at someone wearing that to a rodeo, but it's not so stinkin' hot here. I know this is a silly question, but I want to look good and meet some cute Texas cowboys Thanks for putting up with my vanity/sillyness, lol.

Yep, going to be hot and humid, especially in East Texas.

If it were me, I'd still wear jeans--in a lighter weight denim, boots...and a white long-sleeved shirt in a light weight. It reflects heat and it will keep your arms from burning. A hat of some kind is a MUST, of course.

Having said that, you're just going to have to suck it up and tolerate the heat if you want to go, LOL!!

You will die in the heat wearing your birthday suit. It's miserable, so be careful.

Wear some lose fitting jeans or khakis, tank top, a long sleeve cotton over shirt, and most definitely a hat. Bring a cooler stocked with water and drink up. Don't forget sunscreen either.

cerrtainly OK to wear a skirt but if women are they will probably be more long than short
long skirts might be worse than looser jeans

bring something to use as a fan as well...

some rodeo arenas have open seating where there is space under the stands and some have closed stands--frankly I think the open stands are better--some air can get in

some of them have roofs for shade--try not to sit facing the sun--

Make sure you have cold water to drink. I can't stress that enough.
