It's so hot here in Texas:
- 70 degrees is freezing.
- you have to learn how to drive with just two fingers
- you don't even need the sidewalk to cook eggs.... just hold em out for 5 seconds
- the SUN starts to sweat
- armadillos have to curl in a ball and cross the street by rolling....

Some are totally unbothered by what are disadvantages to me, so you never know. You'll have to plan a trip up to see for yourself. I can see why they love it up there, though!

I'll get up there one of these days. It's so hard for me to get away and leave my precious canines.

Here in Victoria, far from being the hottest place in Texas, today was our eleventh straignt day over 100. Our forecast is for at least 99 for the next five days. Our normal high at the end of June is 92, and through June, we averaged 6 degrees above normal, setting new records on quite a few dates.
I just checked out Laredo, it has been 100 there every day since June 10. The forecast for the next five days is around 105 every day, so Laredo should easily make a solid month of 100 every day. Even places like Yuma Arizona only have current streaks of 100 going back to June 17,

that's telling right there.
Wonder why Texas is going through this massive heat wave right now. You guys are keeping all the heat in the country because we have barely hit 90 here in the Northeast so far this summer. Not that I'm complaining and such.

This might be one of our worst summers in Waco! We've been in the 100s alot lately. Today it's going to be 104! I might not even need to use a lighter to pop any firecrackers, just let them sit out in the sun lol

I heard on the news that for several days in a row, Waco tied the hottest temperatures for several days dating back to 1980. At least it hasn't beaten the record yet. That was the summer from hell.
Yesterday, Waco was 102 and the record was 104 in 1990. It's beastly, that's for sure. Channel 25 showed today that Williamson County is under a heat advisory, so I guess it's even worse south as McLennan wasn't mentioned.

I was in Kansas in the summer of '80, and it was hotter than Texas. One morning when I went to work at daybreak, the overnight low was 90. Beloit. Kansas was he famous hotspot, it was over 110 for about ten days in a row. I think it got up to about 118 in Beloit. I had no AC in my house or my car then.
In Victoria today we set another record for this date, at 102 and the heat index was listed at 111, with a dewpoint of 76. This is now our 12th straight day at 100+. and on 8 pf those days, we set or tied a record.

Last night in DFW. the temperature set a record high minimum for July 4th (83 degrees) and was within one degree of tying the all-time record high minimum. I noted that it was still 90 degrees at 2 AM.
The hot days I can deal with, but the hot nights are hard to take.
