Texas Ghetto Fast Food Joints
I think about every city has those amazing burger or chicken joints that are often located in the undesirable areas!
For Example, Houston has Frenchy's or Dallas, which has Rudy's.
What's the name of some places in your city??
In Waco, we have quite a few.
We have Lee's (Awesome Cheeseburger basket and shakes!)
Jasper's BBQ!
Tony DeMaria's BBQ
Mama and Papa B's

Don't forget Timmy Chan's in Houston for that ghetto Chinese fast food. Love those deep-fried dinner rolls. Also good for wing dinners.
Tracy's Seafood in the slums of Port Arthur has the best cheap / deep-fried seafood you could ever want. If they told me there was a dash of crack in their fish fry I wouldn't be surprised.

I still remember Brother's Fried Chicken on Gaston @ Fitzhugh in Dallas. I heard they closed but darn, that was some fine yard bird.

Williams Chicken in Fair Park in Dallas--however they have other locations which aren't in that shady areas.
And dangerfield, I wouldn't call the area that Mama's Daughter's is in ghetto--it's just industrial, but not really dangerous. It's odd that there's such a great homecooking joint in the heart of Koreatown though.

Your talking about the SECOND Mama's Daughters off of Denton & Royal. The other one, the original is on Irving Blvd. Still a VERY HEAVY industrial area. Close to two jails, lol. But dang, good food and even on the weekends they are PACKED for breakfast. I love the wait staff
Keller's for hamburgers, fries, shakes and beer. Saturday nights there for the car scene.
Dairyette for hamburgers, frieds, shakes and homemade root beer.
I would not call either area "rough" or ghetto. Just older with more character

This.
I never realized Mama's Daughters' was a chain. You'd never realize it from the atmosphere at the Royal Ln location.

It isn't really a "chain". It is local. They just have more than 1 location now. Don't know if the location in Mesquite is still open or not???? I thought I heard they had another location somewhere as well. I've dined at the one on Irving Blvd and the second one on Royal a MILLION times.
