Default Laredo Residents - Help with apartment choice

I posted a while back that my husband was being relocated from Houston to Laredo. We went last week and checked the city out. It was the first time I had been.

We narrowed our apartments down to two

Carmel on north side off of Mines road and Cinenega-Linda off of Del Mar @ Country Club Boulevard.

For those of you familiar with these two which would you choose? They both have positives and negatives.

I loved Carmel's playground but am apprehensive about how close it is to the industrial border and also there is nothing really right around there.

I loved Cienega-Linda's large floor plans, you get tons more sq. foot per dollar , but they aren't very kid friendly , they have no playground. I do love the area though, the school and the fact that everything is within walking distance.

Could someone give me advice on what they think?

I pretty much want to stay on the North side of town. I checked a few out further south and was not impressed.

I would go with the near the Country Club because Mines Road is always packed with commercial trucks.

Thank you. I know that someone did tell me that it is a huge industrial area. I also looked up the school info and the poverty rating for Fasken Elementary is 89%. That is very high.

What about Windsor Place? Anyone know if this is a good community in a good area? I didn't get over to that side of town when I was there.
