lovely is on a distinguished road
Smile wanting to move. PLEASE HELP

I'm from NYC (brooklyn to be specific). I was wondering what areas of texas are a good/safe place to live. I've had my heart set on texas all of my life and im finally hoping to move. I dont ask for much. I guess for it to be affordable. Also, I don't want a very city type area. Im looking for more a suburbian/country like feel. Ive been in the city all of my life and i cant stand it.

so any suggestions on areas?
Also, does anyone know what a teaching job would be like? I know teachers are always needed in NYC, but i dont know about texas. would i be able to find a job fairly easily?

thanks so much.

Personally, I feel that a teaching position would be easy to find anywhere in the state as teachers are always in demand.

Do you have any particular part of the state to which you'd like to move? Texas is so big and has so many different areas. We have the beach, piney woods, totally flat areas, hills, desert, etc.

As far as crime goes, there are many places in Texas that have little crime and many places where crime is terrible.

Taxes are relatively high here, in my opinion, but housing is lesser than many other parts of the country. We don't have an state income tax, but personally, I think the high taxes and high homeowners insurance make up for that.

I think if you would specify an area, you might have better luck at getting a more definitive response. I'll be glad to help you if I can.
