nolra, be sure and add Jumburrito to your places to go list. If you haven't tried it yet, it's a must, especially for breakfast. They make the abosolute best breakfast burrito's I've ever tasted. Their bacon, egg and potato burritos are out of this world. And for lunch or dinner their stew meat and avacado burritos are wonderful.

I loved my house in "Old Midland". It had something like 20 trees in the yard, and when we moved to Houston, we only had 3. You are lucky that your realtor showed you that part of town. Lots of times big oil people transfer in and never see that part of town. We had friends who were shocked the first time they came to our house. They didn't even know that part of town exsisted. It was a fun place to live. We were just a couple of blocks north of the old stadium. We were there before they built the new stadium out by Sam's. On Friday nights during football season we could sit out in our yard and listen to game being called. It was so strange, we would be out working in our yard, and we would here the band playing the Star Spangled Banner. We would stop what we were doing, stand up and put our hands over our hearts until it was over, then continue with our work.

We'll try it for sure.

Along the line of new developments does anyone know what's going on with the construction around the hospital? Just wondering if it will be some expansion and possibly lead to some increased care ability or is it just "cosmetic surgery"? I'll have to read back through the thread, maybe someone has lready addressed that issue. My brother-in-law is a crane operator on that job. He got to midland before we did!

As I understand it, they had some extra funds available, so they decided to add more floors. I haven't seen it at all, as they had not even started that when I left. This was based on an article in the local paper.

Thanks Cathy. I saw a number of things about the hospital renovation/expansion but never really saw anything about what it would do as far as actual care went. Like to find out if they are expanding care ability as well as seating.. I'll dig around on google, bound to be something on there.

They are building a new 7 to 9 story patient care tower at the hospital, I worked there until aug 2008 and left, the only good thing about leaving is that I met my now wife, and we are moving back 1st week of sept 2010, but we will be leasing a house in Big Spring while we build a house in Stanton, but at least I will still be working at the hospital there, I have worked at several since then, and I always think back to working there, I enjoyed it so much, so until sept, ya'll take care, Eric.

A new stop light has replaced the 4-way stop signs at the intersection of Briarwood and Holiday Hill. Major developments planned near the intersection include a new pharmacy, new fuel station, shopping center, the Bush Tennis Center, an apartment complex, and a 400 house subdivision.
