To be honest, there's not much of a nightlife in Lubbock yet. It's a college town, so there are plenty of bars and a few clubs. There is the Depot District, which is a section of downtown where much of the nightlife is concentrated. Lubbock does have a pretty good music scene for a city of its size. The nightlife is not much right now, but as the city and the university grow and downtown is revitalized, it should get better.

I think that it has a great nightlife. It is the best in west Texas when compared to Amarillo or Midland/Odessa, in my opinion. If you're not into prim metro dance clubs, Lubbock has enough to offer.

I would add Abilene and San Angelo to that list. I've lived in Lubbock, Midland, San Angelo, and now Abilene again and IMO Lubbock definitely has a better nightlife than any of these other cities.
