Default Royse City. Utilities-Horses-HVAC jobs

We live in Hico, TX.
Looking to move closer to a bigger area!
I have read some posts and see the school is nice, we have a 5 year old.

We also have a horse and see property is reasonable. Is there much horse activity there?

What are the utilities like out there? I am not sure if it's the same all over Texas, but here in hico it BITES! We have a 1292 sq ft house we keep the AC at 75* and the only other electric thing in the house is oven. We pay $200 at the start of summer and by the time summer is closing our e bill is up around $900!! First we used First Choice, now we are with reliant, not a lot of difference in monthly cost, it's killing us..and the city water, they charge us $90 a month regardless if summer or winter.

Now what about jobs? Hubby does Heating and Air install.
Is there things in Royse City for me to do as well? I would have to work evening shift, is there things open past 9pm? Fast food..etc...?

Thanks for the help!

The problem isn't the price of utilities, it's the house.

Our house is 2000 sf and our bills are never over $200. When you look for a house, try newer construction - the insulation in the walls will be pretty much intact. It might cost more, but think about having that extra $700 a month you'd save go towards renting/owning a nicer place... You get a better place, and pay the same amount altogether.

good luck, God Bless!
