How nice is the area around Archer City, Texas to live? We want a place to live that's not too cold or too much snow. Does anyone know if a swamp cooler will help for hot weather in that part of Texas? We like small towns. We want to live outside of town. We are an older retired couple whose children are grown.

Even though I remembered seeing a sign for it somewhere, I had to look on a map to find out where Archer City is. You're probably better off with air conditioning there. I don't think the climate is dry enough for evaporative cooling to be effective.

Swamp cooolers used to work in far west Texas, but it's usually too humid.

Swamp cooler won't work too well in Archer City.
