hi, just moved here from out of state and have a chocolate lab that loves to swim. was curious if there are any lakes/ponds where i could take her?? thanks!!

Uhhhhh, you're near Fort Hood? Ever hear of Lake Belton? Stillhouse Hollow? Unless 'just' means yesterday these places are hard to miss.

There is a public park on the east end of Lake Belton, Temple Park, pay to park, too. There 's a popular boat ramp in Morgan's Point.

Here's a link to Texas lakes. Look up those two above to see if they suggest lake places for dogs.

Default specifically to dogs

Yes, but I have not come across any specific information as to whether or not I am allowed to take my dog swimming in the beach water (or even walking on the beach sand). I talked to a grumpy guy on the phone when I called up "Sierra Beach" on post and they said "no!"
