Unhappy Help Is It Really That Bad?!?!?!?!?!?

Okay,
I have been reading alot about Fort Hood and the areas around it such as Harker Heights, Corpus Cristi and others in this forum, and I constantly read about how bad the areas are and how high the crime rates are in these towns. Since me and my husband are about to be stationed to Fort Hood, it does kind of scare me a little bit.
Is it really that bad?????

Tina

I have been to Killeen several times an to Fort Hood. I believe the biggest crime you would have to worry about is property crime. Of course, you could live on the post. Here are some links about Killeen and Fort Hood:

No, things are probably not as bad as they sound. I worked on base at Ft. Hood for two years and did not have any problems. The people I worked with seemed to be happy living there. You will be fine.
