Default Favorite/hated things about Texas

For those of you who moved to Texas from another state, what are some things you really like and hate about living in Texas.

I moved to Southeast Texas 7 years ago (I lived mostly in Las Vegas, Nevada but also spent a few years in LA and Phoenix) and I dislike most everything here. The humidity and mosquitos the size of tractors have to be number one on my list of dislikes tho! Evacuating yearly for hurricanes is a close 2nd.

My likes are the lack of traffic and I don't really have to lock my doors (saftey), other than that it's not really my cup of tea! hehe

Dislike most everything, like the fajitas and the leaving Texas sign.

Too much red tape. It's way too hard to do things in Texas like lease an apartment or open a bank account or cash a check or transfer car registration or fill an out-of-state prescription. Probably due to extra vigilance to deter illegal aliens, but whatever the reason, moving into Texas is a real nuisance when you run up against that kind of foolishness.
