I was born and raised in Van Alstyne. It is north of Plano (about 20 miles) on Hwy 75. Small town with lots of improvements over the years, around 2,500 population. Good schools, wonderful, down to earth people.
There are homes to rent, if that is what you are looking for. A lot of my family still lives there, so I visit 5-6 times a year.
Best of all, they now sell beer and wine locally.

Stephanie......and VanAlstyne has a big new drug/alcohol facility opening December 1! What a coincidence!! (Just kidding.....the liquor stores are all at Anna, anyhow, arent they?).

Yes, but I love that it is so close now. When I was in high school, we had to go all the way to Melissa just to get beer/wine; and had to go to either Denison or Plano to get liquor!

Oh, how times have changed...for the better!
