Hi, my family is relocating to San Angelo. We have lived in chicago for less than a year and can't wait to leave. We are from a small town in Mo. So I have never been to Texas and need advice. We are buying a house looking for middle-class neighborhood. Can someone sugguest best 3 areas to look and best 2 elementary schools to aim for? Also suggest Real Estate agent? Anything else you want to add feel free. Thanks so much!!

Default San Angelo

I went to San Angelo once from Lubbock with my then-roomate from TX TECH Sept. 12, 2004. We'd never been to San Angelo so we thought "Why not?"

S.A. is OK. There's not a great deal of things to do there, though.
Like most of West Texas, all they seem to have to do is "movies and the mall".

The Best Mexican Food in San Angelo is at Franco's at 2218 N. Martin Luther King Blvd. on the N side of town. I like the beef enchilada dinner myself...that & a soda is like $7.00 if I recall correctly.

Sorry I don't know anything about the neighborhoods there or the schools.

Why are you moving there?

Thanks,

fallguy

I'll have more time to respond later..heading out. Fallguy is right about Franco's, probably the best. Of course, we have great Mexican food here. We have a lot of restaurants for a town of 90,000.

Middle class neighborhoods to check out-

You will want to look mainly at the SW-west parts of town. Neighborhoods to look for are Southland, College Hills, the Bluffs, and my favorite, Santa Rita. Santa Rita is an older neighborhood, not the newer subdivision urban sprawl type thing. Houses of every size from very small to amazing large houses overlooking the river. And a lot of tree cover..It's my favorite neighborhood. And Santa Rita Elementary right in the middle of it is one of the best schools in town.

For homes check out sanangelorealestate.com it has listings from many realtors I believe.

Go to 'property search'

Search 'areas' A, B, C, D, E, and N

Those are the neighborhoods I mentioned, N is Lake Nasworthy..living on the lake wouldn't be too bad.

Default Realtor in San Angelo, TX

My Dad owns one of the largest real estate companies in town. Between the two of us we have the technology (me) and the superior negotiating skills(him) down. Together we have nearly 30 years experience. You can go to website and search all of the MLS listings in town. We do not require that you register (don't you hate that). Give it a try - we will help YOU find what you are looking for. http://ryannewlin.point2agent.com (http://ryannewlin.point2agent.com/ - broken link)
