Hey, Young Journalist......what a great opportunity you have - would love to go with you!

Before you go, you might want to spend some time looking thru some videos on youtube.com - search
'Texas Country Reporter' and scan thru them. Bob Phillips has been on the air here every week since the late 70's so it's a wonderful catalog of Texas people and places.( Be sure and check the dates on any that interest you, though - some of the places/people he visited no longer exist.)

Also, the on-line Texas Highways magazine

http://www.texashighways.com/events?region=1

has a good list of events/festivals going on all over the state for the rest of the year.....just click on the section Texas you are interested in and search by date.

City-Data would love to hear from you as you travel around and when you get home, get your impressions and suggestions for things we ourselves might want to explore.

LOL GayleTX, I used to subscribe to Texas Highways. I had to cancel my subscription, I had itchy feet ALL THE TIME! It is a great source for finding neat places to visit in Texas as well as Texas Country Reporter with Bob Phillips. Glad you thought of these.
