Recent College Graduate Looking for a job in Texas
From what I've gathered, Texas, although suffering like the rest of the country, is overall better off than most of the country. Here's my situation: I'm basically attaining my Bachelors degree in Economics at the end of this month (August 2009). However, being in the DC area hasn't really helped me to secure a job after wards. Even though the DC area seems to be the best major city for job opportunities, the area's so over-saturated with individuals that have degrees, it seems that one basically needs a Masters to even get an entry-level position (or in some cases, an internship).
My question is how does a college graduate from Maryland attain a job in Texas? Who are the biggest employers and employers that are looking for entry-level individuals, specifically in budgeting, finance (not commission-based financial services), accounting, analyst (either financial, statistical, or economical), and consulting based jobs?
My top two places I would like to move to are Houston and Austin, respectively, but if necessary, I'll tolerate moving to Dallas (with specific conditions) since they seem to have a lot of jobs that would fit my qualifications.
