Even you had to get in a snide remark a few post back, and got one in the very last sentence in your last post. I haven't read one post where any Houstonian has implied TMC has given Houston "the appearance of having organized zoning."

Even with Dallas's zoning, Houston still has more consolidated employment centers closer to the core. If anything, this article (in regards to zoning) demonstrates how zoning isn't necessary to cause a strong inner core. However, in Dallas's case I believe it is more multi-ploar due to the nature of the vast amount of suburban cities that have their own agenda and powers that compete with Dallas.
But, Houston doesn't have a strong inner core. Houston is just as; or more suburban than Dallas.

Dude, the existence of this thread could be considered a "snide" remark by you. And, now you have the audacity to get snippy about a remark in one of my posts?

That's not all downtown Dallas. Where does uptown and downtown begin and end? But it is a nice shot though.

It doesn't take a pro to play with photography angles & create an illusion...quite simple with skylines actually.

I can post a similar shot/s with all of Houston's skylines converging together making it appear like Chicago or New York. The views from 288 South going north towards downtown & the Houston Ship Channel looking west towards downtown are absolutely jaw dropping in person.

Cut that west to east Dallas shot in half & you've got downtown.

About half of that is actually "downtown".

Downtown Dallas is separated from its Uptown by a freeway just like Downtown Houston & Midtown are.

Inner loop would be considered our core with around 5.5 thousand people living in just under 100 sq. miles.

Actually it does, for a sunbelt city. Again DFW is very multi-polar; Las Colinas contains ~22 million sq. ft., Telecome Corridor (North Dallas/Richardson) contains ~25 milllion sq.ft., couldn't find Ft. Worth. Houston's three largest employment centers are downtown, uptown/galleria/ and TMC which are within 5 miles of each other; not to mention the various other attractions. Again DFW developed differently than Houston. If you want to argue about this further than make a thread in the city vs city thread.

Whine? That's a bit of an exaggeration. I have never once said any city is better or implied it, there was nothing snide about me posting this. I posted this article in the Houston thread and there's no one putting down Dallas but are happy the TMC is doing so well.

Thats not a illusions thats the growth of Uptown Dallas. This pictures show just how much Dallas skyline is expanding. It was tooking from OakCliff. You can't tell the different between Uptown and downtown Dallas anymore.

You most certainly can. They're both separated by a freeway hindering any kind of pedestrian friendly access what so ever.

I agree. Let's leave it at that.

There's no need to start another thread. The 'Dallas vs Houston SMACKDOWN' is still open and thriving in the Texas Forum.

True. I changed the expression to "get snippy".
