My wife and I are considering relocating to McAllen, Texas from Detroit, MI. She is from Brownsville and is bilingual. I'm Anglo(gringo) and can speak conversational Spanish. She is in the logistics field and I'm a respiratory therapist. My question is are there a lot of jobs down in the valley for respiratory therapists? We have been to McAllen/Brownsville several times and love the area. Also, what are typical car insurance premiums for McAllen? My wife and I both drive 2013 chevy equinoxs and pay about $2300 per year for both vehicles. One more question, how many months per year would you be able to use an outdoor swimming pool living in the valley? Thanks

I don't really know what the job situation is in either of your fields, but if you are Spanish speaking you should be able to find employment in RT in hospital or home health settings.
