Default Texas Medical Center in HOU poised to overtake Downtown Dallas in 5-6 years

Here is an article by Bloomberg about how TMC will surpass Downtown Dallas, "Expansion plans over the next five to six years have the cluster of hospitals, medical schools and doctor offices outgrowing the current size of downtown Dallas.... It’s already larger than the combined downtown districts of Texas cities Fort Worth, San Antonio and El Paso, he said. "

Houston’s Texas Medical Center May Outgrow Downtown Dallas - Bloomberg.com

This is in terms of sq.ft. and if the expansion goes as planned.

Houstonians have much to be proud of in Tx. Medical Center. Plus, Houston's lack of zoning is less apparent in that section of the city.

The TMC is really like a city within a city. I'd put its skyline up against most other medium to large cities skylines any day. Downtown Dallas is taller of course, but TMC is a lot denser, much in the same way Uptown Dallas is.

Ouch meaning this was blatantly posted in the Dallas forum & I was fully expecting a whole lot of flaming to go on which has proved to be quite the opposite so far...

Ahh yes. The OP says things lots of times to arouse anger in Dallasites. I am familiar with his work.

Houston does have one undeniably enormous, world class medical center (largest of its kind in the world) & its only getting bigger. I certainly hope Obama's wacky healthcare plan doesn't go through. No telling how that would affect all of the prominent hospitals in the Houston area & nationwide.

Is there a way for the mods to move this to the Houston forum? This is about Houston not Dallas.
