In 4A - right now it is Lake Travis. Two consecutive state championships, 34 wins in row, and they opened this season with 3 consecutive wins over proven 5A schools.

I would have to say Katy
Katy, Tx is ALL! about High school Football. I have heard that in Katy football isn't a sport it's a RELIGION. With several 5A High Schools there is never a dull moment in Katy when it comes to football. By the way the State Champs reside here too.

Don't even get me started on Michael Crabtree.

Adrian Peterson went to Palestine High School. LaDainian Tomlinson went to Waco University. I believe both were 4A schools at the time they attended.
As far as the most championships, I think that honor goes to Celina which has won 8. Southlake Carroll and Brownwood have 7. Katy has 6. A number of different schools have 4 or 5...

As I mentioned earlier, every area is the best. Depending on whether you're a small town with 6 man football all the way to the big schools.
Over the last 50 years my vote would be "West Texas" schools.
Odessa Permian, Midland Lee, San Angelo Central, Abilene Cooper, Amarillo, Lubbock
That's some serious football.

Rio Grande Valley in south texas has way better football programs, way better.
We would squash all you guys, if we had gas money for our buses to go up and play you!!
And we know your too scared to come down here and get whooped, long ride home after a butt kickin.

Those low rider buses won't make it to Houston much less Dallas even if you had the gas money. Of course your guys could push or thumb a ride.

Oh yeah, we've had some serious football teams out here in West Texas! Odessa Permian dominated for many years in 5A football, including some state championships. Midland Lee and Abilene High have also had some very good teams in more recent years going all the way to the championship games, or at least deep into the playoffs, in their division many times. I think Midland Lee won a state championship a time or two back in the late 90's in their division.
Southlake Carroll is obviously a football powerhouse and Katy as well. It's really hard to say who's the best since there are so many great football teams all over the state! It's no wonder that college football recruiters come to this state more than any other.

One thing that I've noticed, the suburbs have all the nice teams. But the players that make it into the NFL usually always come from the Inner City schools that are garbage. That, or from schools out in the boondocks.
