Here are links to my delicious churrasco feast. I owe to the real lovers of fine grilled food.
This is how a Churrascurria looks like from the outside. It will cook a LARGE quantity of food much faster than the grills back home, while still tasting great you can enjoy the rest of your day, so one can burn some of those calories and fat. This is especially true in regards to BBQ, which can take several hours to all day to cook.
A personal favorite of mine, Abacaxi Assado, pineapple with cinnamon and chocolate grilled in then churrasco. If you have never tried it you don't know what you are missing.
The finished results of the Churrasco. An earlier poster mentioned that the quality of meat in South America is better than the quality of meat in the USA.

I cannot speak for all of South America, but overall I find the meat in South Brazil to be of a MUCH higher quality than most meat in the USA, produce too, and its also very cheap. I am not sure why this is. My only guess is that there is more preservatives and chemicals in USA meat, but this might not be the case. Any theories?
Unlike, Texas BBQ it's not necessary to smother the meat in gallons of marinade to make it taste better. Its so good that BBQ style marinading would detract from its taste.
Anyway, this meat is even juicer, softer, tastier, and more tender than it looks from these photos.
The finished meal. Note some of the side dishes. That yellow dish is Brazilian potato salad. It is different from American potato salad in that in contains corns and carrots. It is homemade by my mother in law. I personally prefer hers it's best potato salad I have ever had.
As, I continue to grill Churrasco I will show you more photos on this post. Also, if and when I return to Texas, I will put up pictures of Texas BBQ to further add to this discussion.
Joseph,
the meat in SA is fresher, it looks different, it smells different and most certainly tast different. Ive eaten in most SA countries, Ive never had meat thats been frozen or anything but grass feed.
that Texas has great meat, I come from Argentina, which is a south american country were meat is one of our specialties and Brazil has GREAT meat also. I have been to Rafain at Iguazu Falls in south america and Rafain Dallas and also at Chama Gaucha in San Antonio and they have really awesome meat.
I'm dying to have the authentic home made texan bbq. I have been eating the fast food bbq and it is very good too. As many people says here, is different, I don't think is 2-3x better just different
I see you modestly refrained from mentioning that Argentina shares origin of Churrasco with Brasil, not to mention home to one of my most favorite places in the whole world, Buenos Aires
Stick around and provide more south american insight for us, and pictures of your beautiful women
Don't get me wrong Texas bbq is good, but churrasco is so much better. Check it out Churrasco - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and I recommend you head to the nearest Fogo de chao. It might hurt your pride that there is better style of barbeque, but you will enjoy the meal.
as wonderful as Churrascos and Fogo de Chao is, it pales in comparison to anything in South America
I've lived in Texas all my life, but I don't think I've heard anyone here claim that "Texas has the best BBQ in the world." The only place in the States that I can think of who claims to have the best BBQ is Kansas City. BTW, has anyone had Kansas City BBQ? I'm curious how similar it is to Texas BBQ.

Comparing KC BBQ to Texas BBQ is like comparing the Texas Longhorns football team to Texas Southern's. KC makes that claim for a reason. It truly is the best. Also, I'd say the Carolinas and Memphis have better BBQ than Texas.
