Anyone know of this? I'm staying out in Bay City Texas working the outage at the Nuclear Plant in Wadsworth. Staying at the Bay City Inn. Fairly run down but it strikes me as a once great family vacation stopover. It still has the original decor, the lobby area had a restaurant and bar, a ballroom that all closed in recent years. Come to find out, this place was built by a tv or movie production company for a show or movie back in the early 60s. Anyone know what this "show" was? Can find any info anywhere. I'd really love to know.

My father and I owned the " Bay City Inn" known then as the Oasis motor hotel!
Originally known as The Carivan Hotel! A chain of hotels from Texas to California to Florida!
Yes, the hotel hosted a movie named "Baby The Rain Must Fall"
Staring Steve McQueen! Good movie and filmed there, but you would never know it!
I have seen the screen cuts and the movie, and I believe it can be found on Netflix!

STRA8Fan , Mitch and I worked at the Bay City Country Club back in the late 60's he taught me how to wait on tables and Bar tend and then I moved on to the Oasis and worked there for years it was a fun place to work. Your Mom worked right by your dads side ' I use to have pictures of all of us at the BC country club but I lost them in all the shuffle .

Thanks for the info but not a good idea to post your email in a public forum. I see you used your full name as well. Oh well, if you start to get a lot of unsolicited email, you will know at least one place it came from.
