Default Hill Country

Can anyone tell me how they like living in the Hill Country. I have a friend that relocated to Driftwood with her husband last October, and they love it. My real concern is the weather. My husband and I currently live in Coeur d'Alene, ID and have been here for the past 10 years. We moved here from the Bay Area, CA. My husband does not do real well in the humid weather and that is my major concern. I'm thinking of checking out Fredricksburg for fun. Our little town is starting to get too crowded for us and we are researching other options. Looking for a very quiet way of life. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.

It's very humid here. Fredricksburg might be quiet, but it's not all that quiet where I live.

Depends on what you mean by 'very humid', I suppose. We had a very humid weekend last weekend, but that was rare. Generally, I would say it is humid here in the summer, but nothing like the coast! And FBurg is noticeably dryer than Austin. Of course, west Texas can be very dry, much more like the desert.

if you think where you live is crowded--don't come to FBurg---that is as touristy as it gets

weather can get humid when air is still
summer is hot even when sun goes down...

What size are you looking for? Kerrville is a nice town in the Hill Country but it is one of the bigger towns.
