I think most people understand that Willingham wasn't a saint and that he in all likelihood was guilty, but his death sentence was based on "science" that has since been discredited by several sources. While the state may not have executed an innocent man, they may well have executed someone whose crime wouldn't have resulted in a death sentence had the evidence been called into question.

Bottom line: Perry refusing to release details of the case make it seem like he's got something to hide, whether he does or not. That's on him, not KBH, not the experts who are calling him out, and not on the citizens of Texas.

As I've said before, Rick Perry's guilty of a litany of shady crap over the last 9 years and the Willingham case shouldn't be the straw that broke the camel's back. He honestly should have been ousted in '06.
