Default Cleburne area?

I have lived in South Texas cities all of my life and am looking to move (with my sister and mother) to the Cleburne area or somewhere in central Texas. I want to live in a smaller town but not real small (larger than 20,000 but not bigger than 100,000 people). I noticed that Cleburne has a lot of group homes for disabled people there. My sister is mentally disabled. My mother is a senior citizen. I work in the healthcare field.
Does anyone have any info about the Cleburne area?

Cleburne is still a little bit small town, but keep in mind that you won't really be depending upon Cleburne for everything, you'd only be about a half hour away from Fort Worth.

Cleburne is the county seat of Johnson County. Walls Reginal Hospital is a part of the Harris family out of Ft. Worth. Lots of Dr.'s offices. It is a clickish town so don't expect to be welcomed with open arms. On the other hand, Burleson (between Ft. Worth and Cleburne) is a more new commer friendly and only 10 miles from the Hosp. district of Ft. W. If I can help you more, let me know.

It is a little weird .... dark. I grew up there. The town's been doing a slow spiral southward since the railroad pulled out twenty-something years ago. Very conservative base there historically fights any positive change. Much of the population seems burdened with unsubstantiated specialness.

Default Clebrne

I've never felt comfortable in Cleburne. I've had to conduct business there upon different occasions and I have to agree, it is a strange town.

I don't care for it either. It seems to me as though it's run down, but I am not familiar with the whole area. I think there are nicer areas west of town.

The population is around 29,000.

Cleburne-strange, wierd, dark....yall have the same impression i have always had. it's not something i can really put my "finger" right on, to explain. i dont get it. i am quite familiar with all the rural counties surrounding Ft Worth area, and can pretty much say good things about the majority of the counties and their towns, but Cleburne has never been desirable to me. never felt "at home" or "at ease" there-it is simply ODD. however, it is in Johnson County, and there are plenty of nice little towns all over the county, i just dont consider Cleburne to be one of them. it's not necessarily UGLY but it just aint pretty either..it's just got a wierd sense about it...strange affect....DEFINITELY DOES NOT GIVE ME THE WARM FUZZIES. a place HAS to give me the "warm fuzzies" to a certain degree, for me to consider it as a place to recommend...............i really wonder what the heck it is about Cleburne. can anyone explain this mystery???
