My whole family, with the exception of me, is from the Midwest, mostly Iowa. That said, although my mom was raised in Iowa, she was actually born in Texas, Webb County, in the city of Loredo(sp?).

Yep, once a Texan, always a Texan. One of my great-whatever paternal grandparents came to pre-republic Texas as part of the De Zavala colony in the 1830's.

I will always love my homestate dearly--just not its hot and never-ending summers after a lifetime of them.

I was one of the only ones in my family not born in Texas. My sisters were born in Clute and Houston. My parents were born in Sinton and Pleasanton. My maternal grandparents were born in El Campo and Floresville and my Paternal grandmother was born in Tyler. My paternal grandfather was actually born in Canada but during the depression he ended up in Texas, with his mother and sister following later.

Roots trace back to South Texas and the RGV. Too young to remember any of it, though.
