I, even as a supporter of the Pres, admit that he needs to DO SOMETHING in the Middle East and Afghanistan, one way or another---that's a natural fact...but let's not forget that he wasn't in office when EITHER of those conflicts first broke out
I'm ex-military myself (US Army Infantry, late 70's) and my heart grieves for the families of the folks who lost their lives at Ft. Hood...everybody I have spoken to lately either wants the US to A) open up a BIGGER can of whoop-ass (read: more troops) in Afghanistan, or B) get us the heck OUT of there and Iraq...
You may not agree with my next point, but I think he DOES have a pair---he's just trying to make the right decision for all concerned...but I agree with YOU that he needs to do something and SOON, if these shootings are indeed a product of combat induced stress, which is nothing to play with...

My sister in law works where some of the shooting happened, she's ok. The shooter is a recent convert to Islam and is from Virginia. She was also shot at by the gunman and heard the bullet go past her. One of her patients helped save her.

Considering the name of the guy they have in custody, it sounds like another terrorist attack to me.
