The media has more often been calling them "3 suspects." The main shooter is dead. At least one of the other two could have helped him get the ammo. Most ammo is locked up on base. Since the shooter was a doctor I highly doubt he was allowed to carry live ammo on base. He had to have help getting it out of lockup or smuggling it into the base.

According to the one source that may actually be reliable, the general conducting the press conference at Fort Hood, there was the gunman who was killed, and there are two other suspects in custody.
At this point, anything that we hear from other sources is suspect, in my opinion, given how much rank speculation has been going on WAY ahead of being able to know anything at all.

It's sad that this happened in Killeen where they already had a mass shooting once.

In San Antonio, the STBTC is asking for San Antonio to step up and help out - they sent platelets to Killeen and need platelet donations to replenish their supply - 210-731-5590 or www.southtexasblood.org

Death toll is now 13. Could rise, hopefully not.
The Killeen massacre mentioned above was 1991, and was 23 dead at Luby's. It remained the worst mass killing until Virginia Tech a couple years ago.

I haven't read through the thread. I'm afraid to. I've already read so many ignorant, hateful, malicious things on newspaper web sites (not that I'm implying most of you aren't smarter than that, but the Internet invites such vile behavior).
First and foremost, my thoughts go out to the families, friends, and loved ones of those lost and those who are currently still suffering. Secondly, I hope that many are not quick to jump to conclusions without the complete and full disclosure of any and all available pertinent facts. This man, was a coward. I don't care what religion he was, where his parents were from, or what his fears about deployment were. He was a coward. Plain and simple. To take one man's actions and blanket them across an entire people's is foolish and wrong. I really, really hope we, as a country, are better than that. I can't for the life of me understand why so many are so eager to resort to violence. There are twelve families out there who are experiencing one of the worst nights of their lives. We should keep them in our hearts and let all of the politics, opinions, and the rest of it, stay at the wayside.
