Hi...
I need help...me and my friend we currently live in Chicago but we want to relocate to either Houston or Dallas in February...neither one of us has been to any of the cities so we need your help...how do you guys see the job situation...rent (we looking for something around $600 a month thats what we pay right now) and other living costs...public transportation(because we don't have a car)...crime... weather...other activities...or anything else that somebody could think of that would make our decision easier...we are both 26years old and we really can't decide where to go...
thank you...
god bless...

There's always some kind of job, especially with a slow down in immigration. Between the two of you, you could probly put together six hundred bucks for rent but not sure you'd want to live there. And no car? Are you kidding? You might get close to work/home on the light rail but still need to take a bus and then still need to walk. In the summer either city would be a brutal for walking and Houston... well, count on rain.

Good luck

1. Get a job first
2. $600/month will land you in the burbs if you want something halfway nice
3. Public transportation is very limited, especially in the burbs

Seriously, there are not as many jobs out there as people think there is and the ones out there get snapped up pretty quick. I wouldn't want you to get here and end up homeless and broke so if you do not have a slush fund to hold you over for 3-6 mos minimum until you get a job make sure you get the job first.
