And to any that are from the rgv, and don't know spanish, probably cause you don't get out much, or have many friends, if your just watchin sesame street and mtv, then your missin out

And if your ashamed to talk spanish, or try to learn it....then you aint worth nothin anyways, so keep to yourself

I'm a 6th generation mexican american and all my present generation family all know spanish and english, its normal to us, knowing and talking both, its a luxury, cause they stayed here in their homeland, didnt migrate like many did, good riddance...

All the uptight scaredy cats........should stay off the porch, watch you some Oprah

That's total BS. We are living in the United States of America, not the United States of Mexico. If you do not speak english, then you're worth nothing.

So now we base people's worth on what language they can or cannot speak? That's pretty disgusting.

I live in San Antonio and I've seen 1000s of people that speak Spanish (I'm one of them)
But guess what, they also spoke English.

A year in San Antonio (2 hours from Mexico) and I think I haven't ran into 1 person that didn't speak English, some had a strong accent, but spoke English.
If somebody speaks Spanish, doesn't mean that they can't speak English.

Can you speak any Native American language?
Because English has been spoken here for only 400 years.
