I didn't say they weren't rich, in fact they use these legislative connections to better themselves. There are also per diem and other benefits. Basically my point was the job is more financially lucrative than you made it out to be.

I've seen a few of Shami's commercials here in Abilene the last few days. I don't know enough about this guy to say anything about him yet. All I know is I will NOT be voting for Perry. At this point I plan to vote for Hutchison in the primary.

I used to sorta like Hutchison, but her ads are awful. All she does is talk about the "government takeover of healthcare" (which it isn't) and nothing else. Shami at least has slick, positive ads.

May have to give this one a listen.

I could not be any more poorly planned than Kay Bailout getting props in a radiomercial with Dick Cheney.

Really folks? Really?

"Business as Usual" has made Texas one of the strongest states in the Union. The fact he wants to "end" an era of properity ranks him right up there with Obama.

Please don't consider casting your vote to the candidate with the best ads and prettiest pictures. Look at voting history, look at issues, look at the history of the person...IOW, use your brain and resources around you.

Ads are nothing but tools to keep a name in the media so you don't forget it. They count on people who don't know enough about the issues to go into the voting booth and say to themselves, "oh yeah, that guy, I remember him. I liked him/her." and they know NOTHING about the candidate or the candidate's history (i.e. Obama). They are made by PR people who are paid solely to make you like their client.

Don't worry. I'm not that shallow. My dad was an advertising artist, so I got to hear all about advertising. I can hardly stand to watch TV any more because of the ever-increasing commercials. Still, how a candidate presents himself/herself means something. It's a lot easier to complain about how bad things are than to present constructive solutions.
