Sounds like Midland needs to get working on another Water pipeline.

Midland as of a year ago used 23 million gallons of water a day and the Lower Colorado River District reduced the city down to around 13 million gallons. They just finished building a pipeline from New Mexico that should produce 10 million gallons a day and which will help offset what was lost. But their still technically in a drought. The LCRD could cut back more should the drought persist this summer. So I think Midland should consider another water source to help ensure it's new growth has plenty of water for the future.

Midland loves its huge lawns and golf courses too much--some of the developers have tried a smattering of desert landscaping in front of some new construction, but when I left in 2007, it still wasn't catching on that much. I can't believe I watered a huge lawn broken up into all those pieces, with a 3-station sprinkler system for 25 years. Never again.

Yes, they do need to find something...!
