Lots of construction for sure. I remember when I knew pretty much every new project in the area. Now days, I don't have clue about half of it. I will be driving through part of the city that I haven't been to in a few months and see all kinds of new stuff that I had no idea about. My wife used to live in Phoenix, the other day we driving in East Odessa and she said that all the constant new construction reminded her of Arizona.

Midland is planning to begin construction later this year on phase 1 of Briarwood Expansion project after city council approved $4 million for it. It will widen to 4 lanes and add shoulder space on Briarwood from the intersection of Holiday Hill to FM 158 (3 miles).

Briarwood has become one of the prime development corridors in Midland. It's a central part of many of Midland's new developments. The new loop (Hwy 349), EOG Resource's new 1,100 acre development, and the Bush Tennis Center are all on the North side of the road while Chevron's new office park, Westridge office park, and a lot of other development is going on South of the road around the Sports Complex. Tradewinds Blvd, Deauville Blvd, Mockingbird Lane, and FM 158 are all being expanded to accommodate growth.
