I live in the area and ChristieP is right. Also, there are a lot of LE in this area besides BP. It is also one of the safest border towns. Overall the schools aren't bad. My kids go to them. If he's BP he'll definitely be living in the better areas. A lot of agents live by the lake which is a very nice area.

Go watch "No Country For Old Men". Modernize by 30 years or so. It's all good. If nothing else, the Days Inn there is owned by the same guy who owns the one in Denton, and he's a good guy.

NONE of that movie was shot in Del Rio. No Country for Old Men (2007) - Filming locations Most of it was shot in Albuquerque, NM, and the Mexico shots were in Piedras Negras, which is across form Eagle Pass. My Del Rio native husband enjoyed the movie, but he was really disappointed that none of it was shot there.
We remember when El Mariachi was shot in Cd. Acuna. There were trailers, cameras, etc. all over the main street. The city also did a bunch of renovations to make it look better!
