Actually, the average high in Dallas in winter is in the 50s. Compared to most US cities, that's warm, but it's not immune to winter weather.

We had spring in Abilene for a few hours on Saturday and Sunday. However, winter returns on Tuesday. My neighbor, who moved here from Portland, Oregon, says that Abilene is the only place he has lived that can have four seasons in four days. I told him that all of West Texas was like that.
