Super Bowl XLV in 2011 in Arlington, Texas
ONYGOSH!!!!!!!!! I don't believe it. The Super Bowl will be in TEXAS! I never thought I'd see the day this would happen that a Super Bowl would be in the Dallas/Ft Worth area.
I just wish that Jerry Jones did not have so much to do with it. Oh well.

This will be the third time the Super Bowl will be hosted in Texas. The first two were in Houston (1974 and 2004). The competition to North Texas were weak, but Indy may get it in 2012. When the MLB All-Star game was in Arlington, it got many negative reviews since it was away from Dallas. Lets see what they do with the Super Bowl. The events are already spread all over the place (from Dallas, to Irving, to Arlington, and Fort Worth). Also, you know that it gets icy around here around that time. I hope it doesn't become an Atlanta of 2000.

All I can say is, "I'm glad I won't be up in that neck of the woods during that time."
Personally, I do not like Jerry Jones and was wondering why another poster may feel that way. Is it because he isn't a native Texan?

Please, can we not turn this thread into an argument about what is a native Texan, why do native Texans hate everyone else, etc. It's just a thread about the Super Bowl.
Thank you,

Congrats DFW, I can't wait! This is awesome, and it will only be about 8 miles from my house!
The new stadium will have a 100,000 person seating capacity.....

Geez, I was wondering the same thing when I read that comment by KewGee, "Personally, I do not like Jerry Jones and was wondering why another poster may feel that way. Is it because he isn't a native Texan?."
Me not caring for how the man does business has no bearing whatsoever on where he was born. I just don't care for the man. Don't care for the way Bum Bright handled the situation when he sold the Cowboys to JJ and handled the situation w/ Coach Landry either and he IS a Native Texan (many other things about some of the ways BB conducted business I don't care for either and where he was born again has NO influence whatsoever).
KewGee, can you put the whole thing to rest? We get it that you don't particularly care for Texas or it's people and want to move but stop turning EVERYTHING into this. Okay, I digress, I too don't want this thread turned into another The World against Native Texans.
BTW, heard that by the time the Super Bowl rolls into the North Texas area that I-30 will be 5 lanes in each direction. Thank goodness. Oh, nother bit of trivia, no host team has ever been in the Super Bowl. Do ya think we can turn that around and be the first? Why not? Afterall we are talking about the DALLAS Cowboys from TEXAS and Texas is sooooo much better than anywhere else, (Sorry, couldn't help myself on that one ).

Congrats to the FW-Arlington area, which now becomes only the second city in Texas to hoast a SB. And with the Rangers and the Texas Motor Speedway, it is rapidly becoming one of the top sport cities in the country.
