TexasNick, It was the Louisianans that fought the Alamo. Why do you think the song "If your gonna play in Texas, Ya gotta have a fiddle in the band." refer to it not being alright for a Louisiana man?

Uhh...yeahhh...most Americans (excluding Californians of course) with a lick of common sense would think otherwise.

I sure wouldn't bet my life on it.

Don't worry; I won't bet my life on it. It could happen, of course, but I doubt it. I'm not God so I don't know, but I will say thinking such doesn't have anything to do with common sense. It's just an opinion. Again, I'd worry more about the New Madrid fault and all the states it will basically ruin should there ever be a quake of any significant magnitude.

I guess we're done talking about Texas if we're talking about earthquakes now.

Man D/FW experienced a very minor one a couple of times in the past several years. I think these Californians moving here in the droves are bringing bad luck with them.

Well, there were some earthquakes up in North Texas in the last couple of years. We do have them occasionally per the USGS.

Well Texas isn't exactly immune to earthquakes.

If Texas wanted an earthquake, it could happen. Don't know where it'd be going though.
