I basically am still in Texas for family and cheap costs of living. I'm still a proud Texas, not real sure why, but the Longhorns are two years removed from a national championship, thats gotta count for something. But the allure of more beautiful places is strong at the moment, we'll see if Texas heritage wins out or if I become a proud ex Texan in some other state.

give any input you like i'm just wondering why you chose to live here (for any reason) or how you like living in texas (whichever part you live in).

Thanks
I moved to Corpus for a job. So far I really like it. The people are pretty friendly, the weather is nice, we have the beach and great Mexican food !
I just moved from Ga and did not care for that...before that I was in AZ for 8 years and loved it. Would actually move back to AZ if the job permited, but for now TX is agreat place to live.

When we retired we looked around the whole United States for a place to live. There are a handfull of states that have no state income tax and decided on Texas.( Saving $400+ per month in taxes). We chose Lubbock because it is large enough (200,000+) and has nice dry weather. Lots to do here and VERY friendly and nice people! Cost of living is low, great medical care here, and NO traffic conjestion. YOu have to see it to beleive it!

I live here because I was born here, because my 86-year-old mother still lives here, and because my job connections (I'm a professional musician) are all here. I like Fort Worth a lot, but I'm not crazy about the climate. I'll probably eventually move to NM or Far West TX.

I honestly don't know if I do want to live here anymore. My family has been in the state that long, but I have lived here all my life. It sucks because I have tried to move to other places before and people can tell that I am not from there due to an accent or whatever it is that I have. Maybe I have a certain look, idk. Hell, people are talking how there are so many jobs here and I have been looking for 3 weeks and still nothing. It's very frustrating and there is a lot of racism here. For example, I even tried looking at fast food places and I can't begin to tell you how many times I have walked in and its either been all one race working there or one race and one gender. At that point, I don't even apply because I know that I won't get hired.

I am actually embarrassed by the bravado here. You can be #1 and you don't have to rub it in people's faces and people have state pride but they feel like they have to do that, couple that with the state making the news and most people outside of Texas thinking that we are ,racist, ignorant, illiterate, uneducated hicks and well, I don't know. I have seriously considered leaving, but I don't know where to.
