If you are going to utilize the public schools, I've heard Texas public schools are better than Arkansas public schools.

This question has been asked so much that I can almost guarantee that if you read many of the posts, you will get a feel for the state. There's pages and pages of info. Good luck.

Thank You all for replying.....
Can either of you direct me to the person, place or thing that I can get additional information from. I will try the Chamber of Commerce. Schools are very important..... I have a grandchild that needs extra help with catching up to her grade level (8th). She is in classes that have helped her tremendeously to improve her self esteem & desire to go forward and I would like to keep that momentum going forward. |

I am in Lubbock and Love it. If you would consider Arkansas then you may not like it here in west Texas. IT is DRY here. Arkansas and east Texas are swamps compared to here. Lubbock has good schools and 200,000 people and 3% unemployment. A building boom has been going on here for many years and looks like it will continue. This is a growing community!

what are you looking for, do you want big city life or small town living? I have lived in so many different towns here in texas and they are all different but at the same time there so much alike. I lived in fort worth for about 5 years and loved it i would give anything to go back, but now i live in eastland and its ok. so really the question is what do you want? P.S. Odessa and Lubbock are not good places you could not pay me enough to go back there, i dont even go there to see my family we meet half way. Yes, its that bad

I completely disagree. I'm stuck in College Station now and would give anything to go back to Lubbock.

I currently have two homes in the Fort Worth area and love the Fort Worth area. I lived in Dallas also for 27 years and much prefer Fort Worth. One home is NW Fort Worth and one in Bedford; love them both.
