Default Moving to deep east Texas

Hello-
I am currently living in Houston but looking to relocate with my boyfriend near Nacogdoches, tx. Problem is- I found a job in Tyler and he found a job in Nacogdoches but we are having difficulty finding a location in between to live. We recently went to Jacksonville, tx to look at rentals and found one we liked. Does anyone have any information about Jacksonville or Henderson street in Jacksonville or other areas to live in between Nacogdoches and Tyler?

Thanks so much for your help!

I grew up in Jacksonville and it has its good and bad qualities. Not a lot to do but Tyler is close by. I wouldn't personally live on Henderson St because it's close to Tyler St, where there have been problems in the past. Not to mention it's close to the high school so I imagine it gets loud at times. Jacksonville is a good halfway point between Nacogdoches and Tyler. I would look a little more on the far eastern side or southwestern side. Hope that helps some.

Jacksonville is ok, best thing about it IMO is proximity to Tyler. Will this be your first relo to a small town?

my parents live outside of J'ville and i went to high school there. i would not recommend it as a place to live. the town itself is very depressing, not a good place to raise a family either. if you like small towns i'd look at Bullard/Gresham area. im not sure of your age but Tyler is a great place to live for all ages!

Yes, Tyler is it. As said above your better bets, are Bullard/Gresham, but Whitehouse, just next to Tyler on the SE side should have home rentals, there are a few apartments you might want to look at, some very new on Old Omen Road very near UT Tyler. This area is near Highway 110, in Whitehouse or Old Omen Road you could go down through Troup, Texas to Nac. Good luck

it would help us steer you towards a place if we knew your ages and if you have or plan on raising a family here. school districts are very important around here being their is such a difference in certain areas. do you like small town living, mid city, big city? what activities do you like to do also?
