It's practically identical. Ft. Worth may get a few more freezes in the winter.

Austin has more humidity, too, but not by much. They are fairly similar.

Fort Worth (and Dallas) are in the southern part of Tornado Alley so strong Spring storms are fairly common. And being that Fort Worth is roughly 200 miles north of Austin, the winters are colder with more freezes and more of a chance to see ice/snow. Summers are just hot all over the state with no appreciable differences in temperature, unless you're in Amarillo up in the panhandle.

Here's a link to the National Weather Service site where you can check official information for Fort Worth...and then check on official stats for Austin.

San Antonio and Austin are identical, for all practical purposes.

DWF compared to Austin is cooler in winter, the same or a tad hotter in the summer, less humid, and with a slightly higher chance of tornados. The only difference that I might consider significant would be the winter temps.

For low humidity and low tornado incidence, you would have to travel west - El Paso, maybe. Think San Angelo has a similar tornado rate, but not sure.

booz30: There are few tornadoes around San Antonio, but it is humid. It's only about 130 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. It doesn't have much of a winter.
