Great feedback everyone! We're heading to San Angelo for a week in April to check everything out. Any recommendations for a real estate agent that might be able to show us some properties?

My father came here in a job transfer at work because he wanted to live where the cowboys did. He has passed now but he found very few cowboys but alot of people that rode hoses.

Lived there myself, depends on what you want. Lots of land, all private except for the State park, so you'll find yourself riding the roadside unless you know someone. After the mall and the resurants, you're out of things to do for the most part. If your an inside type, you'll do fine. Other posters ahve said it before, other places with lots more to do and the same laid back lifestyle...hill country springs to mind. Good luck!
