Default Which part of Texas?

Hey everyone....I'm from Queens, NYC....and thinking about moving out.....possibly Texas....I'm not sure which area is best for me....maybe none at all?

Anyway, maybe if I tell what I am looking for....some Texans can tell me an area that would suit me?

I am looking to live in an area where its residents are proud to be American...i.e. hang flags of USA before hanging flags of other countries

I am looking for an area where graffiti is non-existent and auto theft is low

An area where there is minimal traffic....where on street parking is easy to find

An area where two-parent homes are common

An area that has no low income housing

Forgive me if this post is insulting to some....but it is what it is.

Thanks in advance

Be a little more specific. Are you looking to live in a smaller town or a city like Dallas/FW/Austin, etc.? What kind of budget are you looking for for a home? What kind of job are you looking for, if you are looking?

If he wants zero traffic you can count DFW, Houston, Austin-San Antonio out.

Sounds like Texas is not for you.

First and foremost... You'll find Texas flags everywhere. Big ones. U.S. flags are reserved for federal government funded buildings and are flown at the same level as Texas flags.

You won't find no graffiti and no auto theft in areas with ample employment and where you'll find minimal traffic and street parking, well, not too many jobs. And that means fewer two-parent homes and plenty of low income housing.

I'd suggest you might find something more suitable in the Arkansas where our cousins fare somewhat better in the graffiti and auto theft categories.

You are looking for a place that disappeared about 1965. But, if you do happen to find it, let me know 'cause I want to move there too!

More seriously, no large city in Texas is going to fit the bill. And small town Texas is going to have some low-income folks of one kind or another.

You might try some of the towns in the Dakotas or some parts of Nebraska if you can stand the weather.

More specifics, like price range because I think that some of the suburbs around the major cities would probably work fine. People come on the Austin forum all the time asking these same questions and people direct them to towns like Dripping Springs, Pflugerville, Kyle, Leander, Cedar Park, Burnet, Bastrop, Smithville. You can find towns around Houston and Dallas as well that might fit the bill, we just need a few more specifics about you.

You can find towns that might have no low income housing around or at least very little. There is a lot of state pride here, and you will see more Texas flags than US Flags, but both are displayed proudly here and without shame. Some of the smaller towns don't have major crime or tons of car theft but you may find SOME property crime like stolen bicycles or tools or something. Grafitti is usually painted up quickly and some towns even put up surveillance cameras in hot spots to avert the practice. My best friend in NY (She lives in Brooklyn) has in-laws in Queens and so I've heard some stories from her, so I think I have an idea of what you are trying to avoid.

FORT WORTH
I am looking to live in an area where its residents are proud to be American...i.e. hang flags of USA before hanging flags of other countries - GENERALLY VERY FLAG WAVING PEOPLE, RELATIVE TO THE REST OF THE COUNTRY

I am looking for an area where graffiti is non-existent and auto theft is low - FOR A FAIR SIZED CITY FT WORTH HAS NEARLY NO GRAFFITI, NONE ON FREEWAYS/OVERPASSES- AUTO THEFT, ITS ALL RELATIVE

An area where there is minimal traffic....where on street parking is easy to find
AGAIN FOR A FAIR SIZED CITY THE TRAFFIC IS LOW BECAUSE OF HOW SPREAD OUT IT IS - AS LONG AS YOU ARENT HEADING FOR DALLAS

An area where two-parent homes are common YES

An area that has no low income housing YOU NEED A SMALLER TOWN FOR THAT REQUIREMENT

SMALL TOWN TEXAS WOULD WORK EASILY.
