Odessa is a great place
The schools are great!!!
(my son is going on a field trip to Corpus Christi (Ha Ha) in may and he is in 6th grade!!)
Great mall with Burlington, Dillard's, JCPenny's, skating rink, etc.
Odessa has every thing that Midland (The "Horrid Place") has.
Too much crime in larger cities like Corpus, Abilene, or Dallas
Odessa has a fairly low crime rate.(lower than those other cities)
If you like to party Odessa has lots of night clubs.
Odessa has a couple of nice country clubs.
Odessa has really nice (I mean really REALLY nice) water parks and pools.
There is also a lot of very nice churches in Odessa.
And lots of other stuff!!!

Hi there,

I have lived and taught in Corpus Christi for 10 years. If you are looking for a good school district you may try Flour Bluff ISD or Callalen ISD. If you're kids go to Flour Bluff then your family could live on the island which has newer homes, a small family oriented community, and it is very safe. I cannot give praise to Corpus Christi ISD, even with their "magnet program" which is honestly a joke. Actually, the education here is overall very shoddy and one of the main reasons I really want to move (besides the flocks of mosquitoes, fire ants, heat and humidity).

Hearing from friends who are doctors, Corpus Christi is a difficult area for those in the medical profession - due to frequent lawsuits and such. This is why there has been a large exodus of good doctors in the area. Just my 2-cents.
