Those are beautiful pics. I love the ones of the beach and the architecture is very nice there. Thank you for posting them, RGV. And Case, thank you for pointing me in this direction. The palm trees in the pics are gorgeous!!!

Great pics. I wish more of the houses in Galveston actually looked like this. I much prefer the idealized version of Galveston rather than the true reality of it.

Great pics. I went to Galveston a few times this summer and really had a good time. It has a homely, historic, small town feel to it, which is nice if you spend too much time in a trendy, ever-changing, heavily congested area like Clear Lake.

I would like to contribute some pics I took back in 1973. I was shooting for Texas Parade magazine out of Austin.

Last time I was in Galveston, I actually stood in the water and got hit with a few waves. I didn't notice any (well, not much) trash, nor did my skin start melting off from pollution afterwards, so I guess the area I was in was ok.

The water will never be crystal blue, but things can be done to keep it clean.

Gy, I love your pics from the past. I still love the hairstyles and the clothes from that era. They were cool.
