Where to eat in Waco?
We are travelling fom San Antonio to Fort Worth, and plan to stop by Waco for lunch. Any one knows about a good place to eat in Waco? Also, I want to stop by Salado on the trip back because they have a pottery shop there that I want to see. Any suggestion on lunch place there?

The Elite Circle Grille is sure to please you for a nice meal and atmosphere. Even Elvis frequented the place numerous times when he was stationed at Fort Hood.
I can't help you with Salado though.
Here is the link to the Elite: Enjoy..........

I've only eaten at fast food places in Waco, so I can't help much there. Just north of Waco but a little off I-35 is Homestead Heritage. They have an awesome restaurant and a neat craft store. Check their website. There is a good bbq place in Temple that is on I-35. Mikeska's BBQ. Everything is good. In Salado just about all the places to eat are good. If you want a sit-down nice lunch go to The Range. Food prepared by a real chef instead of a disgruntled minimum wage employee. The Range is very good. I think it has it's own website.

Thanks ChristieP. I'm going to stay around Hurst for two nights. Is Galleria Dallas the largest mall in Dallas/Fort Worth area? How does it compare to Northpark Mall? People recommended the latter in some other threads; I saw you live in that area and thought maybe you could help me with this question. Thanks in advance.

There are lots of good places in Waco. Buzzard Billy's on University Parks and Franklin. (go towards downtown) Great cajun food.
Then there's Crickets in River Square Center. It's an old warehouse district on Franklin. Rudy's BBQ by the Elite is good too.
All of the other suggestions have been great.
Oh, and Northpark is bigger than the Galleria. However, the Galleria is newer and has an ice-skating rink and indoor children's playground.

Northpark Mall just got a HUGE renovation and it is now a real show place! (As if it ever was shabby...?) Unless you're looking to ice skate, I'd definitely recommend Northpark over the Galleria. (I'm not as interested in the shops at the Galleria, and I HATE the parking there!) A good place to eat at Northpark is the Kona Grill.
IN Hurst, you have the North East Mall. It's also really nice! Grapevine Mills is also pretty close, and it is HUGE inside. Wear comfortable shoes to do a lot of walking...
