As a wanna-be Texan, can you tell me what towns make up the south plains? I like the low humidity thing. What is the area like? Arid? High desert? Does anyone have links to photos?

Lubbock is considered the hub of the South Plains so north of that city would be Plainview,Littlefield,Abernaty,Hale Center,Lockney,Floydada and east would be Ralls,Slaton,Post, west would be Leveland ,Whiteface and south would be Tahoka,O'Donnell and Lamesa and I realize I left a lot of towns out but maybe that gives a general idea.the South Plains has generally dry weather.not humid like South,East parts of Texas.
