Hello All,

My wife and I are looking at moving out to either Lubbock or Amarillo Texas next July. Ill be retireing but still wanting to work for a law firm in either of those two cities as a paralegal. We will have an 11 year old with us and he's really excited about the move. California is getting impossible to live in. Taxes, dirt and crowds. It seems to get worse every year. Thanks for any info you can send our way!

Lubbock and Amarillo are similar in many ways, but there are some differences. Lubbock is a little bit larger with a major university and more of a professional community. It has much better schools and more parks as well. They get equally hot in summer, though Amarillo is colder in winter and Lubbock has a couple more dusty days a year than Amarillo. Amarillo is closer to Palo Duro Canyon and the mountains of Colorado for outdoor activity. Lubbock has slightly more in the way of culture and athletic events.
That's all I can think of to say right now. Is there anything in particular you want to know about? It's great that your son is excited to move.
