Yes, quiet, but the personal property taxes are insane, decent houses are few and far between, and if you have school age children, i pity them the typical 'clique' behavior you find in every tiny town. It's not a bad place, don't get me wrong, but the drawbacks are there. WE drive to pampa or amarillo for groceries, as the store here is a joke. great folks, decent neighbors, good churches, good medical facility, ect. No recreaction for kids however. Golfing is so -so . ask more, i'll gladly tell you.

I just love Clarendon. A lot of my family lives there. They farm some pretty large spreads there. Its a small quiet town, where everyone knows your name. We love to visit there often. My cousins that grew up going to school there turned out to be great individuals. The only drawback I see is the need to travel to Amarillo for many things you might need. I have to drive to Dallas for a lot of my things so its not much of an issue for me. Give Clarendon a chance, I think you'll like it.

Thumbs down Clarendon

If living there is anything like driving through it and stopping for gas, you couldn't pay me to live there. Isn't it a dry town? Reminded me of those types of towns you hear about from 40 years ago where certain people blatently aren't welcome.

I've been through Clarendon several times and spent the night there once or twice. As far as I can tell, it's a typical small town. I like it okay, although there isn't much there. That might be a good thing, depending on what you're looking for.

I went to school at Clarendon College. I would strongly recommend it. It's grown since I've been there, though. Some of us would make an trip to Amarillo now and then for whatever you might want to find in a city.
